1] How does Samruddham Foundation make a difference?

Samruddham Foundation improves the healthy development of children from before birth, through safe delivery, preschool care and development, primary and secondary education, to an adulthood in which they can be valuable and productive members of their community.
     Samruddham Foundation works to overcome the barriers that prevent children from breaking out of the poverty cycle. Its advocacy initiatives are aligned to child rights as laid down by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. By involving children and seeking their views at every stage of program design, implementation and evaluation, Samruddham Foundation ensures that children play an active role in their own growth.
     Samruddham Foundation a dedicated NGO while providing immediate relief also works with the community the children are in, an approach we call “Child Centered Community Development,” because we believe that no child exists in isolation, but is part of a larger community. To bring a change in the life of the child a change in the community is a must. To have a long-term impact on the lives of children efforts are made to ensure children their rights through awareness raising and support for educational and vocational training. Across Samruddham Foundation’s projects a common theme is participation and children having a voice of their own.

2] What will Samruddham Foundation do with my Donation?

Samruddham Foundation runs various programs to work with children in difficult circumstances. These programs essentially focus on education, health care, nutrition and shelter. We also enroll children in child media programs and ensure their participation in the innovative programs to empower them so that they can voice their opinions. Emphasis is also on preventive measures like disaster preparedness in disaster prone areas, prevention of child labor and instances of street children, prevention and inclusion of HIV affected children, etc. The money that you contribute will go towards these programs.

3] How do I ensure that my donation for the NGO is utilized properly?

Samruddham Foundation is very transparent on its costs. To assure complete transparency to our donors/stakeholders you are free to check our accounts and/or visit programs. Accounts and programs are audited regularly and strict guidelines on finances are maintained as per global standards at all times.

4] How much of my money goes towards Samruddham Foundation’s development projects?

We are a Non Profit Organization. On average, 90% of the money raised by Samruddham Foundation goes towards planning and implementing our program work and 10 % goes towards marketing and administration.

5] Does Samruddham Foundation get funds from any other source than individuals in India?

In India we have been working on getting funds from parents companies, corporate and also various funding institutions. These funds for our NGO in India are used for specific issues/programs.

6] How does Samruddham Foundation identify the programs and areas to work in?

Projects are supported based on Samruddham Foundation’s identified areas of work and priority needs that align with Samruddham Foundation’s vision and mission through thorough need assessment studies. The projects are identified based on their innovativeness and capacity to change children’s lives through involvement of the community members as well as the children themselves, The assessment of prospective partners through partner assessment tools is also taken up to ensure that project objectives are met and benefits reach those for whom they are intended.

7] Can I meet the children I am assisting?

Samruddham Foundation follows strict guidelines on child protection. Since we work with children in difficult circumstances and hence a very vulnerable section of children we cannot reveal the identity of the child to you. You may visit one of our programs on a schedule donor visit.

8] What information is sent to the donor?

We send communication material every quarter to the donors, providing updates on program activities and sharing success stories from Samruddham Foundation’s work supported by your donations.

9] Is my donation tax-exempt?

Yes, all contributions to Samruddham Foundation are eligible for 50% tax exemption under Section 80(G) of the Income Tax Act. Samruddham Foundation will soon acquire 35 AC accreditation & other related certification.

10] What is 35 AC?

The Income Tax Act of 1961 includes certain provisions which offer a 100% Tax Exemption as a tax benefit, to the Donors who contribute money to the NGO. Unlike the certificate granted for Section 80G, the certificate granted for 35AC is provided to any organization as a whole, but only to eligible and approved projects.

11] How do NGO's in India obtain 35 AC accreditation?

The Government of India approves certain NGOs and notifies them as eligible for project or schemes for the purposes of section 35AC. The Central Government has constituted a National Committee to identify projects and schemes to be notified under section 35AC, such committee normally consists of eminent persons. All Indian NGOs are entitled to apply to the National Committee to get its projects or schemes approved.


Project Objectives:

• To provide early childhood care and education services to 3,000 children in the age group of 3-8 years from deprived families whose parents are    working at construction/building sites and residing in urban slums
• Ensure enrollment and continuation of primary education to 3,000 children in the age group of 6-14 years from such families.


Program beneficiaries:

• Girls and boys in the age group of 2-14 years
• Parents of these children working at construction sites

12] What documents will I receive to avail 35 AC Tax benefits?

Samruddham Foundation will issue a certificate to the donor for all contributions & receipts under section 35AC.

13] How is Samruddham Foundation different from other child sponsorship organizations?

Samruddham Foundations is non-religious, non-political, non-governmental organization. Samruddham Foundation raises funds through individual child sponsorship for community development projects. The sponsored children are the representative of their communities and the whole community benefits from these development projects. Samruddham Foundation helps communities become self reliant and children living in disadvantaged situations in realizing their full potential.

14] How are children selected for sponsorship?

Samruddham Foundation conducts group meetings within the community and children represent their communities are selected on the criteria decided by Samruddham Foundation and the child’s community.

15] How does Samruddham Foundation choose which communities to work in?

Samruddham Foundation chooses the communities it works in based on the child rights situation and other development indicators. The areas where the child rights are the most neglected are chosen. Samruddham Foundation, in partnership with other local organizations and in consultation with the community, designs projects based on the area’s needs and priorities.

16] How are my funds utilized?

Your donation is used to fund community development programs in your sponsored child's community. These long term projects benefit all members of the community without discrimination. 90% of the money is devoted to the various programs and 10% is utilized for administrative and fund raising purposes.

17] How long will my sponsorship last?

You can continue to support a community through a child until the child turns eighteen. However you can be a Samruddham Foundation sponsor through other children for as long as you choose. We hope that you will want to be part of Samruddham Foundation’s work for some time. Our work is long-term and committed support from sponsors allows us to achieve lasting results.

18] Can I visit my sponsored program?

Visiting your sponsored program is a wonderful experience. We can arrange a visit for you to meet your sponsored programs, the family and the community in line with our child protection policy.

19] As a sponsor what do I get?

As a sponsor you receive a development report of sponsored program and information about them and their community. This will be followed by a letter or drawing from your sponsored program.


An annual update and reports of your sponsored child development program.

An annual tax receipt

An opportunity to communicate & visit to your sponsored child development program.

20] Why doesn't Samruddham Foundation publish photos of children to be sponsored?

It is of utmost importance that the safety, privacy and dignity of sponsored children are protected at all times. We take child protection very seriously and this includes the sharing of children's images. Samruddham Foundation does not encourage people to sponsor a child on the basis of their physical appearance.

21] Can I choose the child that I want to sponsor?

It’s not possible due to moral security of Childs; we encourage you to sponsor a child development program only.
